Everton midfield dynamo Mikel Arteta will pledge his future to the club, despite reported interest from Premier League behemoths Arsenal and Manchester United.
The Sunday Mirror claims the 28-year-old is keen to show his loyalty to Toffee's boss David Moyes, who stood by him during the Spaniard's eight-month spell on the sidelines.
Arteta was forced to have a prolonged spell in the treatment room following a cruciate ligament injury sustained in February 2009. Arteta's contract is due to expire next summer and talks over a new deal were believed to have stalled.
However, it's now thought the creative midfielder will sit down with club officials this month to iron out a longer stay at Goodison Park after he was not included in Spain's World Cup squad.
The news will be a blow to United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who was set to launch a £10 million bid for the former Ranger's playmaker.
It was also suggested that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was in the hunt for Arteta, viewing him as an ideal replacement for Cesc Fabregas if the Gunner's captain decides to join La Liga champions Barcelona. Arteta joined the Toffees in July 2005 from Real Sociedad and has made himself a fans favourite at Goodison Park, with 24 goals from 136 starts.
